All cases in the State Court of Elbert County are prosecuted by the Solicitor General of Elbert County.
Felony cases, such as most drug offenses, including drug possession, possession with intent to distribute and drug trafficking, or felony domestic violence charges, such as aggravated assault, aggravated battery, aggravated stalking, and false imprisonment, are prosecuted in the Superior Court of Elbert County by the Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney in front of one of the multiple superior court judges. The District Attorney of Elbert County maintains an office in Elberton which is usually staffed with a full time assistant District Attorney.
